Taking Shape
Charlotte Hardy’s current work focuses on design for 2D animation and storytelling. She specializes in background design, character design, and collaborative story development for short animated pieces. She draws inspiration for her works from her rural upbringing and interest in playfulness and imagination. As of this year – by incorporating her intimate experiences with her constantly evolving relationship with herself and others – she creates engaging designs and genuine stories in order to organically connect to her audiences. Hardy’s thesis is centered around creating
Taking Shape, a short film, in order to form a deep understanding of the whole process of designing for animation and creating a fully realized story.
Taking Shape is a reflection on Hardy’s partner, ceramicist Olivia Propeck, and their shared experiences as growing artists overcoming burnout while finding the root of their passion.
