Not-So-Bizarre Tales of a Painting Major

My thesis is meant to be a recollection of my memories with my family, and how they have caused me to become the person that I'm today. I painted six portraits of my family members, all done as if they are in front of me and posing for me. The portrait of me is larger and is much more abstract in comparison to my family. This was done this way to make it seem that the portraits are how we view each other, with my family being the people you see in front of you and my portrait being how my family views me.

Bio

My name is Scott Francis Hokanson Jr. My work revolves around the idea of what it meant for me to remember myself. I wanted these pieces of work to represent my own interests in the greater world of media, and my greater appreciation for it. I never grew up observing art, so it was because of these pieces of media that caused my greater interest to become a better artist.
