Sharon Wang

ChronoSphere

My photography and video practice touches on the solitude at the heart of human existence. It reveals moments of struggles within the hidden aspects of ordinary life. I use myself as a vehicle for expression. I create metaphoric frames to experiment with uneasy emotions and find a balance between documentary and conceptual art. By combining different ideas and materials, I break the boundaries between reality and fiction, causing the viewers to be aware of their surroundings. I am always waiting for accidents to occur during my shooting process because “failure” is where the magic happens. I have no fears about making changes

Through digital media, I use performative approaches to navigate solitude and the world around me. Beyond constructing frames by utilizing lights and setting up the scenes, I also wait for the unexpected to enter the lens. I create a visible fusion of real life and fabrication. This combination serves as a compelling visual metaphor for time, ultimately prompting viewers to question the possibilities of uncertainty.
